John De La O's work often starts life as a small study in the medium of collage. They are later transformed into vibrant large scale acrylic paintings. Reminiscent of the ephemeral style popularized by FAILE (who also hails from Brooklyn) John's work is as contemporary as it is timeless. Noir imagery and a strong sense of story-telling give his work a broad appeal as something that pops off the wall while slowly revealing tremendous depth.
