Authenticating and Preserving Art with LiDAR

This project explores the use of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology within an XR gallery setting to support the authentication, preservation, and presentation of physical artworks. By producing highly detailed 3D scans that capture surface texture, depth, and form, the project tests how LiDAR can function as a robust digital record and enhanced certificate of authenticity, overcoming the limitations of traditional 2D documentation.
